GMC Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)

Article 11 of the Order for a Certificate confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR)

The GMC Certificate of Completion of Training confirms satisfactory completion of a UK programme of training and is one of the certificates which legally permit its holder to work in NHS general practice. Applicants must be in receipt of their certificate and on the Performers' List of their local NHS area team before starting work in general practice in any capacity. If an application for a certificate is pending, employment must be deferred until the certificate is issued.

The first route is for doctors who have completed a full GMC approved training programme. These doctors are eligible to apply for a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

The CCT confirms satisfactory completion of an approved programme of training and is one of the certificates which allows entry to the GMC Specialist or GP Registers Certificate of Completion of Training

The second route is open for doctors who have not followed a full GMC approved training programme and wish to have their training, qualifications and experience assessed for eligibility for entry to the specialist or GP register.

GPs who have not followed a GMC approved training programme can apply under Article 11 of the Order for a Certificate confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR).
