The GP Tutor Network

GP Tutors in the region are appointed and managed by the Postgraduate School of Primary Care.  They are responsible for developing, facilitating and delivering Postgraduate GP education in their local area.  In addition, they quality assure the GP appraisal process and undertake more challenging GP appraisals.

Increasingly, tutors are becoming involved in supporting GPs under performance review or needing additional educational support.  This area is developing in collaboration with NHS England (Cumbria and the North East), Medical Directors and Responsible Officers.  The GP Tutors are accountable to the relevant Associate Director within the Continuing Practice Department.

If you want to know more about our GP Tutors, their work and how they might be able to help you, please email Dr Ellen Osborne, Associate Director for GP Tutors, who can also tell you who your local GP Tutor is and how to contact them.
